Professor Waldemar Treder from the Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice and Cezary Rokicki, the owner of the orchard from Biała Rawska, focused in their conversation on the issue of drought that threatens not only fruit growers but all agricultural producers.
The solution to the problem, according to the interviewees, is intelligent and precise irrigation, which will allow the measurement of soil and air moisture and temperature analysis thanks to sensors installed in the controlled area.
The system determines the plants’ need for water and performs the irrigation process based on the collected parameters. This system is called AGREUS, www.agreus.pl, its manufacturer is Inventia Sp. z o.o.
